George went missing 12 years ago and his family thought he was gone. This week a Good Samaritan found George and arranged to bring him to the shelter.”
They added that, “WHS Intake staff did a bit of investigating because George's tattoo was faded. They got in touch with George's family yesterday and they were here first thing in the morning to reunite with George!”

Freda Watson, who owned the cat, was highly emotional in the lead up to their reunion.
"I couldn't sleep the night before. I was crying that night and I was crying in the morning," she said in an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
"As I went to the kennel and pet him, he sniffed me and all of a sudden he was just rubbing up on me like he remembered me. I carried him in my arms and he put both his paws around my neck as if he was hugging me," she added.
Freda Watson was thankful to the family who had taken care of the feline all these years.
